Information
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
One component of our ongoing investigation of the Manhattan, Bacon,
and Nepperhan manufacturers is the compilation of a database of pistols
known to exist today. This database has the potential to show
manufacturing trends and heretofore unknown information, especially
since no known records exist of serial numbers or other manufacturing
criteria are known to exist today.
If you would like to participate and have access to one or more of these
pistols, and are willing to share your information, please communicate the
following information to our historian. Owner's names and/or locations are
not necessary. If you want to attach a photograph, that would be
valuable, too!
1) Manufacturer: (Manhattan, Bacon, Nepperhan)
2) Type of pistol (Pocket, Navy)
3) Series (I, II, etc.)
4) Serial number
5. Barrel length (in inches)
6. Unusual characteristics (engraving, inscription of a name, ivory grips,
etc.)
We also look forward to your general comments about our site.
Please let us know if you found the site useful in extending your understanding of these percussion pistols!
